To all of us comes loss, in varying degree, whether of opportunity, of endeavor, or possession or person dearly loved. The emptiness then can be indeed like the hole in the sky when a great tree falls. Then is the time to some sapling hope, some new interest, and new effort. True that tall timber needs a long time to grow. But, the sapling hope, the new interest, new effort are green with faith in future. It is the dry. It is the dry old sticks that fall in the winds of change. The pliant saplings bend to the gale and rise again.
